Well...

Well, it's time to discuss one of the most common interjections in English, the word, "well." Words in Spanish used in this capacity are, "pues," "bueno," and "vaya." Of course these words have other, more formal meanings, but here are some examples of their use as interjections.
Bueno, repasémoslo todo otra vez.
(Well, let's go over it all again.)
¡Pues, gracias a Dios que no llovió!
(Well, thank God that it didn't rain!)
Pues, si no querías saber, ¿por qué preguntaste?
(Well, if you didn't want to know, why did you ask?)
¡Vaya! ¿Quién lo habría adivinado?
(Well, who would have guessed!)
¡Pues, olvídalo!
(Well, forget it!)
Bueno, yo ya sabía que eso no iba a funcionar.
(Well, I knew that it was not going to work.)
Bueno, esto es lo que sabemos...
(Well, this is what we know...)
Bueno, si insistes...
(Well, if you insist...)
¡Vaya! ¡Mira eso!
(Well, look at that!)
